Save Installation Time with 9 Conductor Speed Wire

9 Conductor Speed Wire

If you’ve ever installed an amplifier in your car, you know how messy and how much work it can be to run multiple sets of speaker wire through your vehicle. 9 Conductor Speed Wire can make this process much easier; this speed wire contains 9 individually jacketed wires enclosed inside a protective outer PVC jacket and contains enough wire strands for 4 speakers and an amplifier turn-on wire. 9 Conductor speed wire comes in 18 & 22 gauge and uses the same color-coding system standard in most aftermarket products, which makes matching up wires to the correct speaker very easy. This wire really comes in handy in situations where you need four sets of speaker leads, like bypassing an old factory amplifier or adding a 4-channel amplifier to a radio without preamp outputs. Installing this wire is simple, trim the outer jacket as much as needed, connect the wires to your receivers speaker outputs, then run the cable to your amplifier and or speakers. Here at Sonic Electronix, we carry 9 conductor speed wire from top car audio manufacturers like EFX, Kicker, and Xscorpion and comes in various lengths ranging from 20-foot pre-cut pieces to 250-foot spools.

One of the top models we carry is the Xscorpion MC918.100, this 9 Conductor Expert Link Speed Cable is an 18 AWG 100-foot spool with a 22 x .20mm strand count. This wire is constructed with oxygen free copper that prevents oxidation and transfers the cleanest audio signal possible. The flexible, protective jacket has a blue color finish and adds to convenience to the installation. As with all Xscorpion cable & wire, it meets the American Wire Gauge (AWG) standards, which means it is true-to-gauge for ultimate performance.

Using 9 Conductor Speed Wire will make your installation go quickly and smoothly while giving your car audio sound system a very professional look. Eliminate the mess of running multiple speaker wires and enhance your system with 9 Conductor Speed Wire.

Auxiliary vs USB in Car Audio

When playing music in your car, if you are not using a CD you are probably connecting an iPod, flash drive, or other storage device with either a USB or a 3.5mm auxiliary connection. One of these connections is digital, while the other one is analog which can result in a differences in sound and how the device interacts with your stereo. Each of the two connections can serve different purposes, and both are equally important.

Difference In Quality

At the end of the day, USB will always make for a better quality connection than an auxiliary input will for the sole fact that it is digital. When you play music off your iPod into an aux input, it is amplified by the iPod’s internal amplifier, fed into the input, and then amplified once again by the head-unit. When you use a USB connection, the stereo will read the music off the iPod and process and amplify it without the support of the internal amp that iPods use.

Benefits of Auxiliary Connections

Pandora StereoAuxiliary inputs are considered universal amongst the electronics industry and there are thousands of portable media devices and MP3 players that have a small 3.5mm connection for plugging your headphones into. Auxiliary is very convenient for having full control over your audio directly off the MP3 player as opposed to using the stereos controls.

Benefits of USB Connections

Pandora StereoUSB offers the ability to digitally read music off a flash drive, iPod, cell phone, or other devices that store music. USB has the ability to charge the device while simultaneously playing music. Since the transfer of music is digital, many car stereos on the market are able to control Apple devices directly from the head-unit itself. USB also eliminates a lot of distortion and clipping that commonly occurs through an auxiliary connection. Typical devices that are more commonly connected to a stereo by USB include the iPod, iPhone, Zune, Flash Drives, and Android.

The difference in quality between USB and Auxiliary is subtle, but it is noticeable. Use whichever method you prefer and is most convenient to you. There is no wrong way to connect your portable device, just so long as you have music coming out of your speakers! Make a Two Amplifier Installation Easier with a Dual Amp Kit

Most high end car audio sound systems are equipped with two amplifiers, one for the subwoofer and one for the speakers. Installing both of those amplifiers into your vehicle can be timely and costly if you are using two separate amplifier installation kits. Make it easier for yourself and invest in a dual amp wiring kit. A dual amplifier installation wiring kit allows you to run one wire to the battery instead of multiple wires to the battery, which in turn saves on installation time and cost of all that unnecessary extra wire. Once the single power wire is ran to the battery, a distribution block splits the power into two wires, one for each amp. Most dual amp kits include one long piece of power/ground cable to run to the battery, and one shorter piece that connects to the distribution block to the installed amplifiers. Below I will provide information on two great dual amp kits that will make installing two amplifiers much easier on you.
