Hifonics New Brutus Amplifier Lineup for 2013

Brutus BRX Amplifiers
Today we visited the Maxxsonics booth at CES in Las Vegas and found out was in store for Hifonics Amplifiers in 2013. This year it looks like they’ve designed an entire amplifier lineup for their Brutus line titled “BRX”. Previously, the Brutus lineup exclusively featured Monoblock amplifiers. However, this year the Brutus BRX lineup will feature both full range and monoblock configurations – and they’re even throwing in a 5-channel for good measure! In fact, this year it looks like the Brutus BRX lineup will feature a total of 9 amplifiers!

Brutus BRX Terminals
The Brutus BRX amplifiers will have some standard features found across the entire series. Molded and angled illuminated terminals for stylish designs and a stress free installation access. Accu-Cross crossovers allow for adjustments and for sound shaping and Ultra-Fi MOSFET power supplies ensure the amplifier can maximize its sound capabilities.

To distinguish between the full-range multi-channel amplifiers and the monoblock amplifiers, two different Class’s of Brutus Amplifiers are available. The multi-channel amplifiers are coined the “Super A/B Class” and the monoblocks are the “NGSD Next Generation Super D-Class.” The Super A/B Class was initially developed for the flagship Mt. Olympus amplifiers and is only featured on the BRX and the Brutus Elite line of amplifiers from Hifonics. The NGSD digital chip design in the monoblocks has been tweaked to provide an extremely efficient, low temperature, high amplification system.

                                                           Power For a New Age

Hifonics GLX1400.1D

Hifonics GLX1400.1D

Hifonics has been known to produce some of the most powerful amplifiers in the car audio market.  New to their amplifier line up this year is their Gladiator series mono and four channel amplifiers.  Named after one of the most ruthless warriors in the ancient world, the Gladiator amplifiers have improved efficiency and athletics.  The chrome mesh grill offers optimum protection just as a gladiator would use for combat.  They also have a built-in Diagnostic mode which will detect shorted speaker leads, low impedance, dangerous high temperatures, DC shorts and will shut down the amplifier to help prevent damage.

One of the new features of these amplifiers is the improved NGSD (Next Generation Super Class D) Technology.  This makes the amplifiers much more efficient and will allow them to run at cooler temperatures.   They also feature built-in variable crossovers, subsonic filter, bass equalization, and a HFR-3 remote control module for the monoblock models which allow for overall level control from the reach of the driver seat.  As always, these amplifiers are CEA compliant and will never over-exaggerate their stated power ratings.  The monoblocks are available in a 1000W, 1400W, 1800W, and 2200W versions.  The 4 Channel is available in a 120W and 200W (per channel) option.

  • Full range line-up includes four monoblock and two 4-channel amplifiers
  • NGSD (Next Generation Super Class D) Technology
  • Chrome mesh finish
  • Built-in Diagnostic Mode

We had an exclusive look at the Gladiator series at CES 2012.  Check it out!

What Amplifier Do I Need For My Kicker Solo-Baric L7 Subwoofer?

I couldn’t finish the What Amplifier Do I Need? series without talking about one of the best square subwoofers in the car audio industry, the Kicker Solo-Baric L7 Series Subwoofer. This woofer is available in 4 sizes, an 8”, 10”, 12”, or 15” with each size having the option of a Dual 2 ohm impedance or Dual 4 ohm impedance. The RMS ranges from 450W to 1000W depending on the size of the woofer.

Massive Audio N2

N2

The Massive Audio N2 Nano series amplifier is the perfect match for when looking to amplify a S8L74 L7 woofer or even two of those woofers to a final impedance of 1 ohm. If you want a little more power this amplifier can also properly power up a single S10L72 or S12L72 subwoofer to a final impedance of 1 ohm, offering multiple wiring capabilities. This amplifier features a relatively small chassis along with built-in noise reduction circuitry. Its Nano technology provides ultra efficient power supplies, while the low-pass and subsonic filters allow you to really tweak your sound reproduction.

Hifonice Brutus BRZ1200.1D

BRX1200.1D

The Hifonics Brutus BRZ1200.1D amplifier allows you to take full advantage of the power handling capabilities of the S15L72 to a final impedance of 1 ohm and the S15L74 to a final impedance of 2 ohms. You can even wire up two S8L72 woofers together to a final impedance of 2 ohms. This amplifier will give you so many wiring options you won’t know what subwoofer you really want. The amplifier is CEA-2006 compliant meaning that the stated rated power is accurate. Its 4 way System Protection circuitry will keep your system running efficiently without problems and at the same time provide protection if needed. The BRZ1200.1D brings power, efficiency, performance and affordability.

DLS CAD 11

CAD 11

Another great amp would be the DLS CAD 11 classic series amplifier. Much like other amplifier this one also provides you with a number of wiring options. You can wire a single S8L72, a single S10L74, S12L74 or even a single S15L72 subwoofer. DLS is considered a very high end company but their products speak for themselves. This amplifier will offer supreme clarity, efficiency, performance and a nice constant flow of power to avoid cutting and clipping. The amplifier also features low-level and high-level inputs allowing this amplifier to accompany any car audio system be it aftermarket or stock.

Sonic Electronix 10th Year Anniversary

Sonic Electronix 10th Year Anniversary

By Kyle D. – Product Specialist

10 Years ago Sonic Electronix was born in a lowly apartment feeding off of scraps trying in vain to survive. The coming years were tough for this striving new company as the World Wide Web was forever evolving at an alarming rate. It was truly a survival of the fittest and less fortunate companies were sucked into the information cloud that is the internet. Even through tough economic crisis Sonic Electronix beat all odds and has arrived on top of the consumer electronics market. It is the year 2010 and Sonic is celebrating its 10th year anniversary with a sale of epic proportions!

Our 10 Year Anniversary Sale includes a wide range of electronics from amplifiers to speakers and even some home audio equipment. As an easy way to get bass into your trunk we have created a combo package that has everything you need in one easy purchase. For example the Kenwood + Hifonics Bass Package comes with 2 12” subwoofers, amplifier, enclosure and wiring kit all-in-one. Need just an amplifier? The Kicker ZX750.1 pumps out 750 watts of true RMS power to your subwoofers at a steal of a price! So far this is shaping up to be one of the best birthdays ever! How about a powerful 12” Kicker Solo-Baric L5 (08S12L54) square subwoofer? The patented square design allows for 18% more cone area, which translates to more bass than competing circular woofers. In need of a Blu-Ray player? The LG BD590 has a built-in 250GB hard drive, access to online internet services such as Netflix and it supports full 7.1 surround sound audio.

Those are just a few of the many items we have on sale in celebration of our 10 year anniversary. We have decided to keep this birthday special running until September 15th but don’t wait too long. Keep in mind that we have limited quantities available so get it while it’s hot! And one more thing, no need to bring us any presents.
