Bring EDM To Life In Your Car!

Whether you’re a raver, bass head, junglist or just enjoy listening to electronic music, upgrading your car stereo to sound its best is partially based on preference. First and foremost, for those tech savvy users, we highly recommended to upgrade your head unit that features auxiliary, USB or Bluetooth capabilities to wirelessly stream music directly from your iPhone, MP3 player or other smart phone devices. Seeing as how there are so many genres of “Electro” music nowadays, let’s go over a few suggestions for a good quality stereo system to get the best boom for your buck!

If you’re into house music or a general genre of electronic music, you’d want quick, punchy bass. A smaller subwoofer, 8” or 10”, would be sufficient for this specific genre such as the RE Audio SEX10. These subwoofers provide high performance as well as value and can add the perfect addition to bring EDM to life in your vehicle.

For those into dubstyle, trap or drum n’ bass music, a bigger subwoofer would bring the best audio quality such as a 12” or 15” to give you really deep, booming bass. The NVX VCW154 is a perfect example and will provide the thick bass quality you want for this genre. The key components in the design of this subwoofer is the large dual 3” high temperature aluminum voice coils and triple stacked motor structure which allow this sub to handle some serious power at 850-1000 watts RMS, ideal for this type of music.

A lot of the music you hear on the radio seem to have a lot of vocals with a mixture of bass but is mainly focused on the vocals. Listening to more trance or techno, you’ll want clear yet smooth highs. We recommended the Infinity Kappa series speakers. This line of car speakers produce clear, loud high end sound and will definitely bring Electronic Dance Music to life in your vehicle.

Depending on your preference of electronic music, have your own mini rave in your car and check out these products on our site. For more information, visit our video on Infinity Kappa Series speakers.

Battle of the Subwoofers: Kicker CVX vs RE Audio SEX

In this week’s Battle of the Subwoofers, we will be looking at the RE Audio SEX subwoofer, and the Kicker CVX subwoofer. Once again we will be looking at some of the specifications and technologies that not only make these woofers a great buy but also what sets them apart from one another. Based on the information given you will then be able to decided which woofer is better for your personal needs.

Kicker 10CVX124

10CVX124

Kicker is a very well known company within the car audio world and is known for delivering products that have amazing quality and performance. One of their more powerful woofers is the Kicker 10CVX124, which is the round equivalent to their Solo-Baric L7. Kicker likes to be loud so you can rest assure this CVX subwoofer will be loud, with an RMS power handling of 750 watts not only will you hear the bass but you will really feel the bass. This woofer has the flexibility of being able to fit into larger size enclosures, giving it a wide range of bass reproduction possibilities. Its SoloKon cone woofer and ribbed Santoprene rubber surround give the woofer sturdiness, stiffness, longevity and enhanced performance. So why the CVX? Apart from its many other features, the woofer is able to provide a very loud amount of bass with precision that is often lost with higher power subwoofers. Its frequency response and sensitivity really allow the woofer to cover a nice wide range of frequencies that covers many genres of music.

RE Auido SEX12D4

SEX12D4

“Release the Beast” this is RE Audio’s motto, and with the SEX12D4 subwoofer they do just that. At 600 watts RMS this woofer will crank out hard hitting bass. The cool thing about the RE Audio woofer is that it will actually feel much louder than 600 watts RMS. This woofer requires smaller enclosure which means the woofer will offer more accuracy and precision but still bring all the power. The SEX woofer features a 3” voice coil with a triple stacked motor structure which gives the woofer very high excursion levels with enough of a driving force to keep a constant, steady and responsive flow of bass reproduction without skipping a beat. With the SEX it’s all about quick bass without losing any of the power. The ability to do both allows this woofer to perform at a high quality level with all music types.
